The company has laid off its on air staff at two stations: Regional Mexican KHHL “La Ley 98.9” and Spanish Contemporary simulcast “Digital” KXXS (92.5) and KXBT (104.9). Among those exiting are Director of programming Josh Villa, KHHL MD Jose Gadea, production director Pedro Escalera, and pm Driver Armando Ulloa. For now, both stations are still airing their music formats, but the Radio-Info.com boards are rumoring possible format flips. KHHL recently won the regional Mexican battle in the market against Univision’s KLQB – which had a 4.4, 12-plus to KHHL’s 4.5, in the summer ratings period. It was just over a year ago (in Sept. 2008) that BMP flipped Rhythmic KXBT “The Beat” to simulcast with “Digital” KXXS.
